My Review:
To be honest, I was a little reluctant to start this book just because it didn't look like "my" kind of thing. Well let me tell you, I am not going to let what's "my" thing hold me back anymore, cause this book was frigging amazing!
I started reading this book on camp - I had downloaded it to my phone and I didn't have my other book on me so I decided to give it a shot, and within a few chapters I was hooked. On the way home from camp I ditched my other book to read this, and was so enraptured that I totally lost track of where I was and forgot to text my mum to come pick me up until my destination was in sight. Oops.
Things I loved about this book (in absolutely no order whatsoever):
1. The Writing:Jen (yes i call her Jen, cause we sah close brah) is an amazing author and reading another one of her books felt like coming home. The witty banter, engaging characters and all rounded amazingness exudes from every one of her books. No matter the different themes, different characters, different styles, different everything the writing is always amazing and just traps you.
2. The Story Line:I have a thing against outlining the plot because I don't really read plots. Or I do when I download or buy a book and then after that forget about it totally - it makes for a nice surprise when you read the book. But if you're here you've probably read the book or the plot - so you know that it's a mystery, that there's something you don't know. And that wanting to know is so strong. At first you're a little bit like "eh, I know some of her past I just want to see what she becomes" but as you keep going you so want to know that the desire to skip ahead is such a temptation. It's like a murder mystery "*gasp* it was the maid!" (it wasn't the maid...)
3. The Characters and their Relationships:I swear, I need Jen's secret. How does she have an endless supply of different original, amazing characters? How does she create different relationships that are still so ideal and amazing and....gah! But seriously, I want the relationship that was a main feature of this book. I want a relationship where we are so open and brutally honest, where we can literally say anything without fear of offence. Where we can be just so....argh just read it and then talk to me!
There's about a bazillion more things that I could say about this book but life is going on around me and I have no more time to write this review, but everything about this book is incredible. As always, Jen has created a masterpiece beyond belief that I am so thankful to have read.
